Dowses the diver with 200PPM chlorine, all but the bottom of his shoes. Then proceeds to pick the hose up off the top of the dirty tank and lead the diver down the opening to swing in your drinking water.

🚨 🚨 HEY RON….. HOW ABOUT UAV “DRONE” USE IN INSPECTIONS? DOES ANYONE SHOOT PROJECTILES INTO STEEL TANKS ? How is this checked / verified? UAV / Drones are also great for tower top inspection and pre-dive “quick checks”. (plus… they are great for capturing footage to use for training, advertising and other promotional tasks) 😁 Normally, this would pose a problem in tanks that have radio transmitter antenna is located on top. (READ ON…. I HAVE A SOLUTION!) Here in my area, the NorthEast, nearly 80% of tank top Installations include one or more “microwave” transmitters / antenna arrays operating in the 2.4Ghz / 3.9Ghz and 5.7 5.8Ghz frequency ranges… (both ISM unlicensed “power-limited WiFi” frequencies as well as more powerful FCC licensed frequencies) These are generally used for data links and replacements for the older technology leased-line control circuits used to link remote transmitter sites to others and to dispatch facilities. Guess What??? MOST (98.5+ %) of all sub $25,000 UAV / “drones” currently on the market USE THESE SAME FREQUENCIES!!) Almost every DJI unit uses these. Autel and Skydio as well. This is a HUGE problem for both the operators of the craft as well as bystanders on the ground. The problem?? INTERFERENCE !! While operating the craft, The operator uses a hand-held (or tripod / stand mounted) type radio control (RC) transmitter / receiver device which transmits control functions to the craft while simultaneously receiving telemetry signaling from the craft. In addition, most UAV craft utilize an internal or integrated camera for navigation. In most cases, this same camera is used for “real-time” inspection purposes as well as archival purposes. These internal cameras, many capable of extremely high quality video capture, generally have internal memory / TF - SD card memory used to store the recorded video. The “streamed” video, makes use of the RF radio transmission/ communications link between the remote controller and craft. It is extremely bandwidth intensive and greatly affected by interference and latency problems. Therefore, the recorded video onboard the craft is generally much higher quality. Some craft also have “Go-Pro” type HD / 4K high resolution cameras mounted on their frame. These “Go Pro” type cameras record to an internal memory module or TF / SD type memory card. The SAFETY concerns are on the REMOTE CONTROL side of operations. If the craft is being flown near delicate equipment and over people or vehicles, the slightest interruption in signaling or incorrect control signaling can potentially result in the UAV / “Drone” CRASHING or somehow causing. safety hazard. If the video signal is interrupted or negatively affected, it does not pose as much of a safety risk as loss of control does. I could go on for hours about the advantages of using drones for so many things… Plus…. THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!!! I have developed an alternative radio transmission link system for the drones that I use to inspect radio transmission antennas, arrays, cabling and hardline installations for my public safety agency clients. This is done WITHOUT “tethering” the drone to a ground base system. Also…. Using the cellular phone / data net work for remote control, while great for long distance inspection of powerlines etc…. run into the same RFI (radio frequency interference) problems . Most water towers now have CELLULAR NETWORK transmitters / antenna arrays on site. In addition to the traditional use of the tower “top” for antenna mounting, mini cellular companies are now utilizing more directional style antennas and phasing arrays that are affixed to the SIDES and SURROUNDING the tanks and towers. So, by utilizing cellular network data for craft control…. You encounter the same interference problem as the other “WiFi” type frequency ranges predominantly used for drone control. My “solution” involves using combination of VHF-High and UHF frequencies at MUCH higher power. Example = The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom “Drone” , very commonly used for inspections and one of my favorites, simultaneously using 2.x and 5.x GHz frequency ranges LIMIT TRANSMISSION POWER to much under 1 watt. Using my concept …. An FCC licensed IG frequency pair provides simultaneous full-duplex communications for RC control functions. With much more power being emitted by the ground RC handheld remote controller to ensure that instructions to the craft in the air will “punch through” the background radio traffic. Even the telemetry link back from the craft in the air is substantially higher than the traditional methods. The use of directional, high-gain antennas aids in effective communications. Transmitter in ground remote controller = 1 - 35 watts (adjustable by user) Transmitter in drone in the sky = 1 - 8 watts (adjustable by user) The FCC / 2-way radio portion of this project is something I’m intimately familiar with. The licensing is not extraordinarily expensive and ensures that you are fully compliant with the federal laws that exist and ensures that you have the cleanest signal possible. I make use of A frequency pair in the “business band” (IG) spectrum when local. I am licensed for their use within 35km of my home territory .i have a second frequency pair that I use when loaning out equipment…. That license comes under the “itinerant use” policy/regulations. I have a license that covers the entire continental United States.. In addition to using the frequencies for a drone operation and control, we make use of portable to a radios in the field for communications and also have repeaters located in our area to expand the coverage range of our portable radios. “Push to talk“ is far more convenient and safer do use when performing the work we do. I have been using DJI’s “OccuSync 2.0” for the video streaming portion. it’s actually quite good, even in high interference areas. Additionally, everything is recorded to the DVR on the drone (highest resolution setting) for later review and use. The use of the DJI “OccuSync 2.0” (and now 3.0) also provides for rather easy video distribution on-site. Using several hardware products in combination, we are able to provide both HDMI and SDI video outputs on-site. (Note = DJI has a crappy “nanny” system incorporated into their drones. Their “Geo fencing“ makes it a risky choice for public safety, search and rescue and anything critical…. That’s why I only make use of their video transmission link system for inspection duty. I still fly my Mavic 2 and DJi FPV drones, but only for recreation. Autel is the “Orange King” of the skies…. LOL. Kinda like “Orange Man Bad”, a true hero IMHO) Often, during a more extensive inspection, design engineers and a multitude of others will be on scene and will want to see the video being captured during the process. In our case, this is sometimes the municipal water department representative. They are often interested in how the radio equipment / antennas / FAA aircraft collision avoidance lighting is being utilized on their tanks and towers. Another huge use of drones is to inspect water tanks/towers for damage done by “plinkers”. Idiots shooting firearms or other projectiles at water tanks. I could continue for 100 more pages and still not explain everything that can be done with current technology. so… i’ll follow up with: RON…. START MANUFACTURING AND MARKETING A “AERIAL INSPECTION SYSTEM”!, Sell it to municipalities, water district, water Department, diving groups, police and fire, etc…

👍🏻 THANKS FOR YOUR CHANNEL! How about steel tanks? Perhaps cleaning often might reduce the amount of paintings required? Thank you for bringing us a view into your world (which is also our world … since we do drink the water 😁)

No EPA rules to clean water tanks is why you shouldn't trust what big brother says
